Hello
Heard Adele’s new song and was blown away. So happy to hear a new song that focuses on lyrics and instrumental high lights,. I looked up the music video and loved the black and white. It was simple but the imagery was so meaningful. The black and white helps the viewer to focus on the video. It really gets one to think about the relationships in life.
A second look at the second picture
Had seen this wine, Skulls, in the store from a far but wasn’t sure of the label design. When I first saw it I noticed the man hanging in between the two trees. I never turned the bottle around to see the name. After a few times of it catching my eye I noticed the skull AND then I turned the bottle around.
Then it made sense. I really like the optical illusion. It’s really creative but most of all its an amazing illustration. I like the attention to details of the textures that define the figures of the illustration. It’s a light handed drawing with a fluidity. It not like the cartoon or photo that some
labels have.
On the Red Carpet.
I love seeing black and white on the red carpet. Some of these looks are so classy and sheik and then there are the modern and abstract looks. It seems that it really depends on how the color is used and applied – it really doesn’t set a time or date on it. I guess with the neon colors or prints one might get the 60’s, 70’s or futuristic vibe or the 20’s or 30’s with the muted earth tones and then 80’s and 90’s with the primary colors ….. Black and white, it is timeless.

Simple, subtle and straight to the point
Came across this ad. It is a simple ad with text with a picture of a wine bottle. But the small details help the overall picture. The body text for the ad really complements the text that is used on the wine label but the playful use of a the secondary text / tag line in the shadow plays up the ad. The viewer is forced to take a second look at the so called everyday wine ad that is seen regularly. Some might miss it but it a simple way to play on the dark theme and concept of the wine.
Symmetrical but not
Went for a wine tasting! If you are ever in Virginia Beach, please check our Grape & Gourmet. I had tasted this Sparking wine. It was an semisweet wine with a fresh finish. I really like the box design. It is a simple shilouette with a symmetrical design. It is not an obvious symmetrical design but the use of balance is very successful for this layout.
Scout
Came across this brand (Scout) while looking for a travel tote. I noticed the tag first, what a surprise! But the classy and simple logo gave the brand and product a high end perception but not over priced, I think the dog line drawing helps tone down the posh look. The simplicity and clarity help keep it easy to read and memorable.
Black Roses
I heard about this but actually found them!!! Black Bacarra Red Rose is so deep of a red color that they appear to look black…
Finger Painting
A friend sent me this and I think this is really cool… The details that were painted is amazing!! There is a good range of tones for the color contrast – which allowing the hand to look like a real swan!!!
Sorry Fo Your Loss
I know this is off topic, but my heart goes to to Taylor – Real Housewives‘s Taylor Armstrong’s Husband Commits Suicide. Sorry for your loss and I will keep you in my prayers.
Haziz and Cucher
The Series of Dystopia could be about self identity and how it gets lost. People do tend to loose themselves in the process of growing up, experiencing life and trying o fit in the world. The norms of the body image is set by fashion and the entertainment industry and some might have surgeries, change hair color or use color contact to have the popular look that is sexy, hot or “normal”. We loose ourselves by becoming apart of the group- being different is set by the group and what is accepted is said to be acceptable.
